More than 1.2 million Latino Pennsylvanians call Pennsylvania home, and the Shapiro-Davis Administration is working to ensure they have the freedom and opportunity to succeed
PENNSYLVANIA – Yesterday, Governor Josh Shapiro campaigned with PA-07 Democratic candidate Bob Brooks in Emmaus before joining Lt. Governor Austin Davis and Pennsylvanians from across the Lehigh Valley at Fiesta on Hamilton to celebrate the vibrant Latino communities whose culture, businesses, and contributions make Pennsylvania strong.
During Fiesta on Hamilton, Governor Shapiro and Lt. Governor Davis met with local small business owners, entrepreneurs, creators, cultural leaders, and local officials as part of Shapiro for Pennsylvania’s ongoing commitment to engaging, uplifting, and investing in Latino communities across the Commonwealth.
The Shapiro-Davis Administration is working to ensure every Pennsylvanian has the freedom and opportunity to chart their own course and succeed – no matter what they look like, who they love, or who they pray to. That’s why Governor Shapiro is also fighting to flip Pennsylvania’s four key Congressional seats so Pennsylvanians can have leaders in Washington, like Bob Brooks, who will stand up to Donald Trump and deliver results for them.
Watch and read below what Pennsylvanians are saying about Governor Josh Shapiro campaigning with Bob Brooks and attending Fiesta on Hamilton:
WFMZ: “One of the competitors in the race for Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District, Bob Brooks, was joined by Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro in Lehigh County today. Before heading to Allentown, Shapiro met with Brooks and his supporters in Emmaus. State representatives Michael Schlossberg and Peter Schweyer were also there. […]
Governor Josh Shapiro made a stop at the fiesta — taking time to speak with members of the community. The community coming together this Sunday celebrating latino culture and the spirit of this city.”
CBS: “Voters head to the polls tomorrow in closely watched primaries across several states. In fact, in Pennsylvania, Governor Josh Shapiro campaigned, even though he is running unopposed in his own primary, he’s got kind of a different focus on the ground in recent days because he is stumping for candidates in key house races. Here is the Governor on the economy and who he thinks voters should hold responsible.
Governor Shapiro: Donald Trump continues to disrespect Pennsylvanians and really all Americans. People are struggling as a result of his tariffs and as a result of his war of choice in Iran, which I oppose and which is driving up the costs of food and fuel and much more. We’re seeing prices rise everywhere because of Donald Trump’s policies. Donald Trump should give a damn about Pennsylvanians.”

The Keystone: ‘They’re afraid of a working class person’: Shapiro, Working Families Party make final pitch for Bob Brooks

- Gov. Josh Shapiro, along with leaders from the Working Families Party, made one final push on Sunday to get Bob Brooks, a retired 20-year fire fighter and union leader, over the finish line in Tuesday’s primary election and ready for November’s general election against US House Rep. Ryan Mackenzie.
- “ I don’t know about you, but I’m sick and tired of the sycophants,” Shapiro told Brooks supporters in Emmaus on Sunday. “Ryan Mackenzie is a profoundly and pathetically weak human being who can’t stand up to this president. But you know who will stand up to him? Bob Brooks will stand up to him.”
- He added: “ Bob Brooks is a guy who, with his working class background, understands what real people are dealing with, isn’t afraid of anybody, and he can bring people together to get stuff done.”
