Governor Shapiro and the Pennsylvania Democratic Party are powering an unprecedented coordinated organizing effort across the Commonwealth to elect Democrats up and down the ballot this November

PENNSYLVANIA – Yesterday, Governor Josh Shapiro and the Pennsylvania Democratic Party launched “Rise Up Pennsylvania” — a historic coordinated campaign effort that will serve as the focal point of Democratic organizing across the Commonwealth this election year.

By investing early, expanding organizing efforts into communities across Pennsylvania, and working in close partnership with campaigns and legislative committees, Democrats are building the infrastructure needed to reach more voters than ever before and put Democrats in position to win statewide, take back the U.S. House, and secure a governing trifecta in Harrisburg.

Already, “Rise Up Pennsylvania” has opened 27 offices across the Commonwealth — including in all four key swing congressional districts — hired nearly 100 full-time organizers, and knocked on more than 63,000 doors. Ahead of the primary election, Rise Up organizers contacted more than 300,000 Pennsylvanians to help return their mail ballots, contributing to a strong Democratic showing across the Commonwealth.

At a time when Republicans continue to embrace Donald Trump’s chaos, cruelty, and corruption, “Rise Up Pennsylvania” is drawing a clear contrast between Democratic leadership that is delivering results and Republican candidates who continue to back a Washington agenda that raises costs, threatens health care, and takes away fundamental freedoms.

“We have an opportunity here in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the birthplace of our democracy, the swingiest swing state in the country, to decide what the future of the Congress of the United States looks like, and to be a model for good governance right here in Harrisburg,” said Governor Josh Shapiro. “And we now, as a result of ‘Rise Up Pennsylvania,’ have for the first time, I believe ever, the most coordinated, well-funded, well-organized campaign in the history of the Democratic Party here in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. And you are the reason why I know we’re going to win. You’re going to make calls, you’re going to send texts, you’re going to knock on doors, and you’re going to do the hard work.”

“From now through election day, we are going to keep our foot on the gas to make sure that we are not only taking advantage of the moment that the delusional president has given us with this political opportunity, but also expanding on our state House, flipping the state Senate, reelecting our governor, and making Donald Trump a lame duck president,” said Eugene DePasquale, Chair of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party.
