Five Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police Lodges Endorse Governor Josh Shapiro for Reelection – as the Governor’s Coalition of Support from Law Enforcement Continues to Grow

FOP Lodges 11, 19, 27, 92, and 109 are supporting Governor Shapiro for reelection based on his strong track record of supporting law enforcement and investing in public safety

Governor Shapiro is running for reelection to continue keeping Pennsylvania communities safe, supporting law enforcement, and making sure police officers have the resources they need to protect and serve their fellow Pennsylvanians

PENNSYLVANIA – Today, Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police Lodges 11, 19, 27, 92, and 109 announced their endorsements of Governor Josh Shapiro for reelection, highlighting the Governor’s record of strengthening public safety, investing in and supporting law enforcement, and building trust with communities and local leaders across Pennsylvania.

The endorsements announced today include:

  • Chester County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 11
  • William Penn Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 19
  • Delaware County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 27
  • Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 92
  • Fraternal Order of Transit Police Lodge 109

Since taking office, Governor Shapiro has made public safety a priority, securing funding for over 2,000 additional law enforcement officers across Pennsylvania, investing more than $1 billion through community-based violence prevention grants, and strengthening partnerships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. As a result of the Governor’s work in partnership with law enforcement and local leaders, crime is down and the Commonwealth is safer than it was four years ago.

“I’m proud to stand with the men and women who serve this Commonwealth every day – and I am honored to receive the support of FOP Lodges 11, 19, 27, 92, and 109,” said Governor Josh Shapiro. “As long as I am Governor, I will always fight for the brave law enforcement officers who protect and serve our fellow Pennsylvanians – and we are going to continue working together to ensure they have the resources and support they need to keep our communities safe all across this Commonwealth.”

Today’s announcement follows endorsements from the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association and Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5 as the Governor continues to build a strong coalition of support all across the Commonwealth ahead of Election Day.

Chester County Lodge 11 President Robert F. McCarron:

“Throughout his service to the people of Pennsylvania, Governor Shapiro has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to law enforcement, public safety, and the rule of law. He has consistently recognized the vital role that police officers play in protecting our communities and ensuring the safety and security of all Pennsylvanians.

“Governor Shapiro has been a strong advocate for law enforcement officers and their families. Under his leadership, he has worked to ensure that officer wages, benefits, and pension protections remain secure. His Administration has shown a clear understanding of the sacrifices made by those who serve in law enforcement and the importance of providing them with the support and resources necessary to perform their duties effectively.”

William Penn Lodge 19 President Jonathan Ross:

“Whether it was your close relationship with the FOP on seeing the COLA legislation come to fruition, or your leadership assisting our brothers and sisters in the State Police and SEPTA Transit Police during their recent contract negotiations; Governor you have proven you are a friend of law enforcement.

“Simply put, the citizens of Chester, the men and women of the Chester police department, the retirees and their families need your continued leadership in the Governor’s office! Based on your long-standing record of support for law enforcement, and your commitment to the men and women of William Penn Lodge #19, it is an honor and privilege to stand with you and support your re-election as our Governor.”

Delaware County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 27 President Christopher D. Eiserman:

“Governor Shapiro’s leadership has been defined by integrity, accountability, and a steadfast dedication to the people of Pennsylvania. He understands the challenges facing law enforcement agencies and has worked collaboratively with officers, labor organizations, and community leaders to promote policies that strengthen public safety while supporting those who wear the badge.

“For these reasons, the members of the Delaware County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #27 are proud to endorse Governor Josh Shapiro for reelection. We believe he is the right leader for Pennsylvania, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with an administration that values and respects the men and women of law enforcement.”

Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 92 Labor Services Executive Director Thomas Wines:

“On behalf of the Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 92 Labor Services, I am honored to offer our enthusiastic and heartfelt endorsement of your reelection as Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

“Throughout your Administration, we have seen a Governor who has been willing to engage with organized labor, hear the concerns of front-line public safety professionals, and recognize the important work performed by Pennsylvania’s state employees.

“The Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 92 Labor Services firmly believes you are the best choice to continue leading our Commonwealth and serving the interests of Pennsylvania’s state employees—particularly our state parole agents, investigators, and inspectors. Your administration has shown a willingness to work collaboratively, address the challenges facing our workforce, and support the professionals who are entrusted with keeping our communities safe.”

Fraternal Order of Transit Police Lodge 109 President Omari J. Bervine:

“We recognize and deeply appreciate your continued efforts on behalf of police officers across Pennsylvania. More specifically, our members are grateful for your willingness, and that of your team, to intervene directly in our contract negotiations not once, but twice. Your engagement helped end one strike and prevent another, ensuring the 200+ members of the SEPTA Transit Police Department could continue protecting passengers while patrolling one of the country’s largest transportation systems during this historic and crucially important period for Philadelphia. By stepping in when it mattered most, your actions averted what could have been catastrophic consequences for transit operations and public safety across the entire region.

“You have shown yourself to be more than a politician who simply claims to support law enforcement. You’ve demonstrated that support through action, by getting in the game and stepping up to the plate rather than watching from the sidelines.”
