Governor Josh Shapiro Endorses Candidates Across Pennsylvania to Keep Expanding the Democratic State House Majority
Governor Shapiro is fighting to elect Democrats up and down the ballot this November in order to get even more stuff done and keep moving Pennsylvania forward
PENNSYLVANIA – Today, Governor Josh Shapiro is announcing eight new endorsements in critical state House races across Pennsylvania where Democrats have an opportunity to win key seats in order to protect and expand the House majority. This November, Pennsylvanians have the opportunity to elect a Democratic trifecta in Harrisburg so that Governor Shapiro can get even more stuff done for hardworking Pennsylvania families. This new wave of endorsements adds to the slate of candidates the Governor is supporting as momentum grows for Democrats all across the Commonwealth.
Governor Shapiro has been clear that these midterm elections will be a referendum on the chaos, cruelty, and corruption coming from Washington, D.C., and has made significant investments in the Pennsylvania Democratic Party and this year’s unprecedented coordinated campaign effort to help elect strong Democratic leaders across the Commonwealth. Governor Shapiro is leading the fight to win up and down the ballot this November, and is standing behind this strong slate of candidates every step of the way.
“I am proud of what we’ve achieved here in the Commonwealth since I’ve taken office, and I know that with an even stronger majority in the state House, we will be able to get more stuff done for the hardworking people of Pennsylvania,” said Governor Josh Shapiro. “This November, we have a real opportunity to do something that Pennsylvania has not been able to do since 1992 — win a Democratic trifecta in Harrisburg. With a Democratic trifecta, we can finally raise the minimum wage to $15/hour, build more affordable housing, codify abortion rights into law, pass statute of limitations reforms that are long overdue, and so much more. This fight starts with keeping control of the state House and expanding our majority with leaders who will fight for Pennsylvanians every day. I am proud to endorse this strong slate of candidates for the state House who I know will work with us to get stuff done for our communities.”
Governor Shapiro understands the stakes of the midterm elections and is proud to endorse strong Democratic leaders in these critical races — leaders who are ready to win and deliver for Pennsylvania families on everything from raising the minimum wage, lowering costs, and building more housing, to codifying abortion rights and protecting our rights and freedoms.
