ICYMI: Lt. Governor Austin Davis Joins WLCH Radio Centro to Highlight Record of Delivering Results for Latino Communities
Lt. Governor Davis urged Latino voters in Lancaster and York counties to make their voices heard with just two weeks until Election Day
PENNSYLVANIA – Today, Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis joined WLCH Radio Centro to talk about what’s at stake this November, the Shapiro-Davis Administration’s work to support working families, and the importance of Latino voters across Pennsylvania in this election.
During the conversation, Lt. Governor Davis laid out how the Shapiro-Davis Administration has put money back in Pennsylvanians’ pockets which includes cutting taxes 10 times, creating the Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit, and tripling the Child Care Tax Credit. However, they understand that there’s more work to be done — and with a Democratic trifecta in Harrisburg, Governor Josh Shapiro and Lt. Governor Davis will be able to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour, build more housing and make homeownership more affordable, codify abortion rights, and more.
Lt. Governor Davis, along with Governor Shapiro, has emphasized that these midterms will be a referendum on Donald Trump’s chaos, cruelty, and corruption — and Pennsylvanians have the power to put a check on the Trump Administration by sending Janelle Stelson to Congress, expanding the Democratic state House majority, and flipping the state Senate.

On Supporting Working Families in Lancaster and York
Lt. Governor Austin Davis: “The Governor and I have worked, and will continue to work, to put real money back in the pockets of working Pennsylvanians. We’ve cut taxes 10 times, and we’ve been continuing to drive economic growth. I’ll give you an example: the Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit that we created will benefit over 69,000 residents in Lancaster and York counties, helping Pennsylvanians with the burden of the rising costs that they continue to see every day. We’ve also supported working families by tripling the Child Care Tax Credit and lowering child care costs by investing in early learning and child care programs. This is particularly important to me as a new dad. I’m the proud dad of a three-year-old little girl, and I know how hard it is to find affordable, reliable child care. That Child Care Tax Credit is going to benefit over 15,000 families in Lancaster and York. So we’re creating ladders of opportunity, so the next generation has a chance to not just survive, but to thrive here in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.”
On Why Every Voter’s Voice Matters
Lt. Governor Austin Davis: “Voters should feel empowered this election cycle, because they have all the power. We’ve seen the current administration effectively gut the Voting Rights Act and sow seeds of fear and distrust in our electoral process. But this November, these midterms, will be a national referendum on Donald Trump, his chaos, his cruelty, and his corruption — and Pennsylvanians have the power to send Democrats to Washington who will defend our democracy against these attacks.”
On Why Governor Shapiro and Lt. Governor Davis Are Running for Reelection
Lt. Governor Austin Davis: “Governor Shapiro and I are running our campaign to build on the progress we’ve started from creating almost 30,000 new jobs and driving economic growth to creating safer communities, to supporting small businesses, to cutting taxes 10 times, and lowering child care costs. Together, we can continue to build on that progress, especially when Democrats expand their majority in the state House, flip the Pennsylvania state Senate, and win a Democratic trifecta, we’ll be able to deliver even more for working-class families here.”
