Josh Shapiro Continues “Big Fights Bus Tour” with Visits to Dauphin, Cumberland, and Berks Counties

PENNSYLVANIA – Today, Josh Shapiro brought his “Big Fights Bus Tour” to Harrisburg, Carlisle, and Reading, where he campaigned with municipal and judicial candidates, toured small businesses, and rallied with Latino leaders.

At his first stop, Shapiro visited UA Local 520 Plumbers & Pipefitters to thank union members and community leaders for their support and to share his vision for Pennsylvania – one where workers’ rights are not only protected, but prioritized and expanded. Shapiro also urged Pennsylvanians to get out and vote in the 2021 municipal and judicial elections, so that we can build a strong Democratic coalition across the Commonwealth.

In the afternoon, Shapiro visited downtown Carlisle, where Mayor Tim Scott and Commissioner Jean Foschi led a tour of local businesses to learn about the challenges they’re facing and discuss how state government can better support Pennsylvania Main Streets and businesses.

At his last stop in Reading, Shapiro was greeted by State Representative Manny Guzman and a caravan of over 20 Jeeps. Shapiro spoke about the importance of the Latino community in Pennsylvania and outlined his plans to address systemic inequities, grow the economy, create good-paying jobs, lower costs, and fully fund our schools. He pledged to fight for communities like Reading to make sure their voices are heard in Harrisburg — and all Pennsylvanians are part of our shared future.

From rallying with hundreds of supporters to campaigning with federal, state, and local leaders, Shapiro’s momentum continues to build for his campaign. Shapiro has visited nine counties already since launching his campaign and he will continue to bring his “Big Fights Bus Tour” to communities across the Commonwealth, highlighting his record of taking on the big fights, standing up to those in power, and getting things done.
