NEW DIGITAL AD: Governor Josh Shapiro Launches New Digital Ad on Creating Opportunity and Delivering for Small Businesses

TheGrio: Josh Shapiro spotlights faster licensing for Black barbers in new reelection ad

Governor Shapiro is meeting Pennsylvanians where they are and building a coalition to win all across the Commonwealth in November

PENNSYLVANIA – Today, the Shapiro for Pennsylvania campaign released a new digital ad focused on how Governor Josh Shapiro has delivered results for Pennsylvanians and expanded opportunities for small businesses and entrepreneurs across the Commonwealth.

In “Leap,” Khabir Jackson speaks about his work cutting hair, the importance of receiving a license quickly, and Governor Shapiro’s record of making small businesses a priority.

Every day, Governor Shapiro has fought to deliver results and create more opportunity for Black Pennsylvanians to get ahead – from funding our schools and putting money back in folks’ pockets, to cutting red tape and helping entrepreneurs and small businesses succeed. Now, he is running for reelection alongside Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis to keep getting stuff done and standing up to Donald Trump as he makes life harder, raises our costs, and attacks our freedoms and democracy.

Since taking office, Governor Shapiro has fought and delivered for Black Pennsylvanians – from cutting red tape, creating good-paying jobs, and making communities safer, to investing in improving maternal health outcomes and supporting Black-owned small businesses’ growth, to standing up to Donald Trump’s attacks on fundamental rights and freedoms.

As they always have, Governor Shapiro and Lt. Governor Austin Davis are showing up in communities across the Commonwealth and meeting Black voters where they are in order to keep building a coalition to win up and down the ballot this November.

Khabir Jackson: I like everything about cutting hair — meeting the people.

My name is Khabir Jackson. I cut hair at Philly Cuts.

Once you start investing time and money into your career, the clock is ticking.

It used to take months to actually hold your license in your hand so you’ll be buying supplies and trying to build the business and still you’ll just be waiting and waiting.

But Josh Shapiro actually made small businesses a priority.

But now you can get your license in a few days and sometimes it’s even the same day.

Thanks to Josh Shapiro, that’s one less thing to worry about.
