President Obama: “Pennsylvania, Governor Shapiro has your back — and in this election, I’m asking you to have his”

PENNSYLVANIA – Today, the Shapiro for Pennsylvania campaign announced the support of President Barack Obama for Governor Shapiro’s reelection. Governor Shapiro is fighting for all Pennsylvanians — and with the support of President Obama, the Governor is running for reelection to keep getting stuff done and moving our Commonwealth forward.

In a video released today, President Obama discusses the importance of electing leaders like Governor Shapiro with decency, integrity, and a willingness to fight back against the chaos, cruelty, and corruption in Washington, D.C. Governor Shapiro has gotten stuff done on the issues that matter most and stood up for Pennsylvanians every step of the way — and that’s what he will continue to do every day.

President Barack Obama: “I’ve known Josh Shapiro a long time. He’s a friend and was one of my earliest supporters. 

“Today, it’s more important than ever we elect leaders with the decency and integrity and willingness to fight back. We need leaders like Josh Shapiro. 

“As Attorney General, Josh protected our democracy, our voting rights, and the rule of law. As Governor, he has stood up to the chaos, cruelty, and corruption coming out of Washington — and he’s gotten stuff done for the people of Pennsylvania like delivering free school breakfast, safeguarding healthcare, cutting taxes, and protecting our freedoms.
