While Governor Josh Shapiro Delivers for Pennsylvania Agriculture, Donald Trump and His Allies Are Driving Up Costs for Farmers and Families

Yesterday at the Farm Show, Governor Shapiro highlighted his record of standing up for farmers and putting agriculture at the center of Pennsylvania’s economic growth.

PENNSYLVANIAYesterday at the Pennsylvania Farm Show, Governor Josh Shapiro met with farmers, producers, and small business owners from across the Commonwealth to announce a new $10 million round of agriculture innovation grants and celebrate Pennsylvania’s agriculture industry, reaffirming his commitment to fighting and delivering for the farmers that fuel our Commonwealth.

Governor Shapiro has focused on Pennsylvania agriculture from day one as Governor – and he has delivered real results for farmers by investing in our agriculture industry, making government faster and more efficient, and strengthening critical relationships Pennsylvania agriculture relies on. This new round of grants will help more Pennsylvania farmers innovate – building on the first round’s investment in 88 projects across the Commonwealth.

Agriculture is one of Pennsylvania’s largest and most powerful economic engines. More than 600,000 Pennsylvanians work in agriculture, and the industry contributes over $132 billion to the state’s economy each year.

Governor Shapiro has stood up for Pennsylvania farmers when the Trump administration ripped away funding for Pennsylvania farmers who are helping put food on the table for our friends and neighbors. Governor Shapiro filed a lawsuit to restore $13 million in federal funding that supports nearly 200 Pennsylvania farmers and helps get fresh, locally grown food to families across the Commonwealth.

Governor Shapiro’s actions stand in stark contrast to Donald Trump’s reckless tariffs, which are massive taxes and sources of instability for our farmers – driving up the cost of equipment, feed, and fertilizer while triggering retaliatory tariffs that block Pennsylvania products from key export markets and put farm families at risk.
